B.Sc. : Lieutenant, R.A.F., B.E.F., England and France. Sailing privately in May, 1917, was gazetted in London 5th August as probationary flight officer, Royal Naval Air Service and served at Manston to September, Cranwell to December, Killingholme to February, 1918, Calshot to April and then with 243rd Squadron in France until January, 1919, returning for demobilisation. Promoted temporary sub-lieutenant, 20th October, 1917; lieutenant, R.A.F., 1st April, 1918. Mentioned in Despatches. Early education in Queensland.
Publications
The results of his investigations of the Fitzroy basin, Broadsound, Ayr, Townsville, Cairns and Torres Strait were published in eight booklets, reprints from the reports of the Great Barrier Reef Committee. While in New South Wales, he also worked with T. G. Taylor on a survey of the Kosciusko Tableland and collaborated with him on a study of the Kamilaroi tribe.
