O.B.E., B.V.Sc., M.R.C.V.S., D.V.S.M. (Edin.) : Major, A.A.V.C., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting 17th October, 1914, and sailing as R.V.O. 5th A.L.H. Regiment, transferred to 2nd Veterinary Section 25th February, 1916, and 4th Mobile V.S. 22nd March. Crossing to France, was promoted major 9th December and served with section until appointed D.A.D.V.S. 4th Division 11th June, 1918, returning 3rd January, 1920, after seven months' non-military employment. Awarded O.B.E. 3rd June, 1919, and Mentioned in Despatches twice. Early education at Brisbane Grammar School. Later at Hawkesbury Agricultural College.
