M.D., Ch.M., F.R.A.C.P. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting 20th July, 1916, and sailing in May, 1917, joined No. 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbeville, and then 5th and 6th Australian Field Ambulances. Later served at No. 2 A.G.H., Wimereux, as Pathologist in charge, and at Royal College of Surgeons in charge of Australian War Pathological Specimens (Medical War Museum), returning as M.O., hospital ship  Wandilla, in May, 1919. Promoted major, 28th January, 1918. Professor Pathology, 1936-; formerly Director of Kanematsu Memorial Institute of Pathology, Sydney Hospital. University Medallist (M.D.) and Ethel Talbot Memorial Prizeman. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
