B.E., B.Ec., A.M.I.E.Aust. : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 21st September, 1915, and sailing 1st May, 1916, reached Armentieres 23rd November and served with 9th Australian Field Ambulance in all engagements, including Messines, Neuve Eglise, Warneton and Broodseinde, until invalided to hospital during Passchendaele. Rejoining unit, took part in Big Advance of 1918, Bapaume, Cambrai, Le Cateau and Bohain, serving until demobilisation. Early education at St. Mark's Crescent Grammar and Fort St. High Schools.
