B.A. : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli. Enlisting 28th February, 1915, and sailing 30th May, served as stretcher-bearer with 5 th Australian Field Ambulance from August until invalided from Gallipoli 30th October and to Australia, arriving 3rd March, 1916. Subsequently joined 22nd Howitzer Battery for service abroad but was discharged medically unfit on account of previous sickness. Early education at Marist Brothers' High School, Darlinghurst, and Christian Brothers'' College, Waverley.
