B.A. : Captain, 7th Battn., Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, R.F.C. and R.A.F., B.E.F., France, Salonika, Egypt, Mesopotamia and Persia. Enlisting at Oxford in September, 1914, was gazetted lieutenant 24th November, and served with regt. in France and Salonika, 1915-17. Transferring to R.F.C. 12th July, was with it and the R.A.F. in Egypt and Mesopotamia, 1917-18, and with Dunsterforce in Persia during part of 1918, returning to Australia in 1920. Promoted captain, 12th July, 1915. Early education at Sydney Grammar School.
