M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, R.A.M.C., B.E.F.; also A.A.M.C., A.I.F., France and England. Enlisting 26th January, 1915, as captain A.A.M.C., and sailing 8th April as M.O. troopship "Star of England "to Egypt, was gazetted lieutenant R.A.M.C. 18th May, and appointed M.O. troopship "Cawdor Castle "with troops from Alexandria to Plymouth. Was M.O. 76th Brigade, R.F.A. (Guards' Division) from June, 1915, to May, 1917, at Battles of Loos, Somme and Vimy Ridge, and then M.O. Bethnal Green Military Hospital from June. Returning via Canada 24th December, served in Brisbane Military Hospital till the Armistice. Promoted captain R.A.M.C., 18th May, 1916. Early education at Holy Cross School, Wooloowin, and Nudgee (Q.), St. Stanislaus' (Bathurst) and St. Joseph's Colleges. Later at St. John's.
