LL.B. : Petty Officer (I), 1st R.A.N. Bridging Train, Gallipoli and Egypt; also Anzac Mounted Division, A.I.F., Palestine. Enlisting 11th March, 1915, and sailing with original unit 3rd June, landed with Imperial troops at Suvla Bay 7th August, remaining till the Evacuation. After one month in Grecian Archipelago, went on construction works at Suez Canal Defences. Joined Anzac Mounted Division and took part in Sinai Desert operations and later in Palestine, returning to Australia through sickness in July, 1917. Early education at Grafton Superior Public School. Later at St. Andrew''s College.
