Diploma in Military Science, Arts : Major, 13th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli. Enlisting in October, 1914, and sailing 21st December, took part in the Anzac Landing, was detailed early in May to reconnoitre North Peninsula (Xaros Bay) in H.M.S. "Usk "and commanded Mining Corps, Eastern Lines Landing, Suvla Bay. Was shell shocked in September and invalided via Lemnos and England to Australia in May, 1916, taking charge of returning wounded. Later was O.C., 13th Battn. Reinforcements, Kiama, and returned to Randwick Hospital and thence to St. George''s Heights prior to being demobilised as unfit, 8th October, 1916.
