V.D., M.B., Ch.M., F.R.A.C.P. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli and Egypt. Enlisting 7th August, 1914, and sailing 20th October, served with 1st Australian Field Ambulance as R.M.O. 1st A.L.H. Regt. during voyage and then at Mena Camp, Cairo, from December to March, 1915. Was R.M.O. 3rd Battn. at Gallipoli from 29th April to July, and Divisional Sanitation Officer 1st Division H.Q., being promoted temporary major early in August. Was wounded at Lone Pine 9th August and evacuated to Ras-el-Tin Hospital, Alexandria. In October invalided to Wandsworth Hospital, England, returned to Australia in March, 1916, and demobilised in August. Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Ipswich Grammar and The King''s Schools. Later at St. Paul's College.
