M.P.S., Pharmacy : Captain, 18th Battn. A.I.F., France. Enlisting 4th May, 1915, and sailing as second-lieutenant 7th January, 1916, joined battn. in Egypt and, crossing to France in March, was wounded at Pozieres 4th August and evacuated to hospital and thence to Australia, arriving in January, 1917. Re-embarking with 2nd Battn. reinforcements 14th June, rejoined 18th Battn. 11th January, 1918. Wounded in Ville-sur-Ancre sector 19th May, but served until demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 7th January, 1916; captain, 11th January, 1918.
