M.B., B.S. (Adel.), D.P.H. : Lieutenant, 27th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 10th September, 1914, and sailing 24th December, served as private and lance-corporal with 4th Australian Field Ambulance until August, 1916. Then sent to No. 6 Officers Cadet Battn., Balliol College, Oxford, and to Training Centre, Etaples, being commissioned 26th January, 1917. Was Platoon Commander, 27th Battn., wounded at Menin Road 20th September and in 1918 was Brigade Gas Officer, 7th Infantry Bde., returning in November on "1914 Leave". Early education at Adelaide High School.
