Enlisting 5th June, 1917, and sailing with 8th Reinforcements 16th July as second-lieutenant, joined battn. 23rd January, 1918, and was wounded at Villers-Bretonneux, 4th April. Rejoining battn. on recovery, served till death. Promoted lieutenant, 8th February, 1918. Killed in Action, Peronne, 30th August, 1918, and buried in Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension. Early education at Maitland High School.
