M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., D.T.M. & H. (Camb.), Med. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt and England. Enlisting 26th July, 1915, and sailing on 31st, was at Base Details, Zeitoun, from the end of August until proceeding to New Zealand at the end of September, on loan to N.Z. Government, partly in charge of wounded on transport "Tofua ". Returning to Australia in December and re-embarking on 20th, was with 8th Australian Field Ambulance from January, 1916, at Railhead, East of Canal, with 15th at Ferry Post and later R.M.O. 14th Training Battn. at Zeitoun and Tel-el-Kebir till invalided to No. 1 Australian Stationary Hospital, Ismailia. On recovery returned to Tel-el-Kebir and crossed to England via France, again becoming R.M.O. Trng. Battn. at Lark Hill and later at Codford St. Mary, Hurdcott and Fovant. Then served for six months at No. 1 Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, and a short time at No. 2 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Southall, returning via the Cape as M.O. transport "Nestor "27th September, 1917. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at Guy''s, St. Bartholomew''s and Tropical School of Medicine, Royal Albert Docks.
