O.B.E., Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur, M.B., Ch.M., F.R.C.S. (Edin.), F.R.A.C.S. : Major, R.A.M.C., B.E.F., France and England; also Medicin Aide Major (2me Classe) Service de Sante Militaire Frangais. Volunteering in March, 1915, for service with French Army and Enlisting in Paris 7th July, served as Senior Surgeon to Hopital Temporaire 22, Villers-Cottento, Aisne, from June, 1916, to December, 1917, also as Chirurgien Chef de Secteur over seven other hospitals, including the Scottish Women's and at Clermont-Ferrand from January to June, 1918. Joining R.A.M.C. in London in July as captain, served at Shepherd's Bush, Woolwich and Officers' Hospital, Brighton, till demobilised in February, 1920. Awarded O.B.E. and Croix de Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur. Lecturer in Gynaecology, 1924-33. Hon. Consulting Gynaecological Surgeon, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Early education at The King's School. Later at St. Andrew's College.
