O.B.E., M.B., Ch.M. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.If., Egypt and Palestine. Enlisting 26th July, 1915, and sailing 27th September, was stationed at No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis, from 30th October and then at Convalescent Depot, A1 Hayat, Helouan Joining 3rd A.L.H. Field Ambulance, 17th February, 1916, was at Romani as R.M.O. Double Squadrons Regiment (10th A.L.H. and 4th Camel) and from 20th September, 1917, at No. 14 A.G.H., Cairo and Port Said, being Registrar from January, 1918, and serving until demobilisation. Promoted major, 28th January, 1917. Awarded O.B.E., 3rd June, 1919, and Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Brisbane Grammar School.
