M.B., Ch.M., F.R.A.C.S. : Examiner and Lecturer in Surgery : Lieutenant-Colonel, A.A.M.C., A.I.F. Enlisting in May, 1915, served as O.C. hospital ship Karoola from 14th July, 1915, to 29th May, 1916, in the Mediterranean and to Australia. Subsequently appointed Surgeon No. 4 Australian General Hospital, Randwick. University Medallist, John Harris Scholar and Wilkinson Prizeman. Early education at Edinburgh and Sydney Grammar School.

In the early 1920s Craig endowed a urological fellowship (at the time unique in Australia) at the University of Sydney and at departments of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. In all he donated some £20,000 in money, laboratory equipment and books to the university.From ADB entry
