Enlisting 16th April, 1917, with 10th Medium Trench Mortar Battery and sailing 19th December with 26th Reinforcements 2nd Battn., joined battn. 12th May, 1918. Transferring to 17th on 2nd September, served till death. Killed in Action, Joncourt—beyond the Hindenburg Line— 3rd October, 1918, and buried in Bellicourt British Cemetery. Early education at Newington College.
