Law I : Lieutenant, 35th and 33rd Battns., and gth Field Coy., Engineers, A.I.F., France. Enlisting in December, 1915, and sailing in July, 1916, was lancecorporal 9th Field Coy. Engineers, but transferred to 33rd Battn., remaining with it until June, 1918, although gassed at Passchendaele in 1917. After attending Officers'' Training Corps, New College, Oxford, was commissioned 20th August and transferred to 35th Battn., serving with it until demobilisation. Promoted lieutenant, 23rd December, 1918. Member of S.U. Scouts. Early education at Wahroonga College and Sydney High School.
