Enlisting in September, 1916, and sailing in December, served at Tidworth Camp from February to March, 1917, and with 61st Battn., Wareham and Fovant, till September. Joined 1st Australian Field Ambulance in September, being R.M.O. 3rd Battn. from January, 1918, to April, 1919, returning in August after post-graduate course in London. Early education at Wollongong District School. Later at St. Paul's College.
