B.E. : Captain, A.F.C., 10th A.L.H. Regt. and 16th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and France. Enlisting 15th December, 1914, and sailing 17th February, 1915, served as trooper 10th A.L.H. Regt. on Gallipoli until evacuated wounded and sick in September. Crossing to France, was with 16th Battn. from 16th September, 1916, being wounded at Flers 7th November and transferred to A.F.C. in England 9th June, 1917. Joined 2nd Squadron in France 2nd February, 1918, and was Instructor No. 8 Squadron in England from May to July. Although injured in aeroplane crash at Leighterton in June returned to France on n th July and served till demobilisation, accounting for nine enemy aircraft. Promoted flying officer and second-lieutenant, 8th November, 1917, lieutenant, 2nd February, 1918, and later captain and flight commander. Early education at St. Peter''s Collegiate School, Adelaide.
