Econ. I : Sergeant, igth Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli, France and England. Enlisting 20th May, 1915, and sailing 25th June with battn., arrived at Gallipoli 19th August, where wounded on 24th and evacuated to hospital. On recovery rejoined battn. and, crossing to France, was wounded again at Pozieres 26th July, 1916, and evacuated to hospital. Transferring to A.I.F. Kit Store, London, 8th December, was promoted temporary sergeant, 5th February, 1917, and returned 31st January, 1918.
