Enlisting in June, 1915, and sailing 21st December, joined battn. in Egypt and, crossing to France, served at Armentieres and Pozieres where wounded by shellburst 30th July, 1916, a few days after taking up duty. Died of Wounds, Boulogne Hospital, 16th August, 1916, and was buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery. Early education at All Saints'' College, Bathurst.
