M.C., M.A., M.B. : Captain, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., England and France. Enlisting 22nd May, 1917, and sailing as S.M.O. troopship Beltana 16th June, was R.M.O. 4th Training Battn., O.C. Group Clearing Hospital and S.M.O. 4th Training Brigade, Codford. Crossing to France, served at No. 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, then with 9th Australian Field Ambulance as O.C. B Bearer Section and later as R.M.O. 33rd Battn. until demobilisation. Awarded M.C. 8th March, 1919, and Mentioned in Despatches. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. President, Evening Students'' Association.
