Dent. I : Private, 13th Battn., A.I.F., France. Enlisting 23rd August, 1915, passed through No. 4 Officers'' Training School and, after instructing in camps, sailed 1st April, 1916, as company sergeant-major. Then after being instructor at Etaples Training Camp from April to December, joined battn. at the Front as private, serving till death. Killed in Action, Stormy Trench (Flers), 4th February, 1917. Commemorated in Villers-Bretonneux Memorial. Early education at Moss Vale and Five Dock Public and Fort St. High Schools.
