M.B., Ch.M. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt, Palestine and England. Enlisting in May, 1916, and sailing 20th October, served at No. 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Mahemdia, from 7th December to n th February, 1917. Then joined 2nd A.L.H. Field Ambulance and transferred to 3rd Amb. in March, becoming R.M.O. 9th A.L.H. Regt., 20th April, and serving at Gaza, the drive to Jerusalem, Jordan Valley, Es Salt and elsewhere. Rejoining 3rd Amb. 12th August, 1918, remained with it until 24th February, 1919, when transferred to No. 3 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, remaining with it till July. After Educational leave, etc., returned in February, 1920. Early education at Sydney High School. Later one year in Arts.
