B.A. : Private, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Egypt and France. Enlisting 21st April, 1915, was promoted acting sergeant and, sailing 14th October with reinforcements No. 2 Australian General Hospital, acted as sergeant in Q.M. store on troopship. After 5 months with hospital in Egypt crossed to France 1st April, 1916, and served for 5 months at Moussot Camp near Marseilles and later at Wimereux till invalided to England, and thence to Australia, arriving 29th November, 1917. Early education at State Public Schools. Later at Moore College.
