Enlisting 19th December, 1917, and sailing 21st March, 1918, served at No. 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbeville, from 14th August. Joining 5th Australian Field Ambulance 1st September and 4th A.F.Amb. 20th October, became R.M.O. 20th Battn. 27th November and rejoined 5th A.F.Amb. 10th December. Returned in February, 1920, after being House Surgeon at Birmingham and Midlands Free Hospital for Children in 1919. Early education at Kyneton and Wesley (Melbourne) Colleges.
